About Blood Bank

An initiative of Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust

On October 2, 1998, Megastar of Telugu film, Chiranjeevi established the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT). CCT has collected about 9,30,000 units of blood throughout the years. The poor and disadvantaged received 79 percent of these blood units for free, while the remaining units were provided to corporate hospitals for a little charge. 4,580 pairs of eyeballs were gathered by CCT during this time span, and 9,060 blind patients benefitted from cornea transplants at CCT. Since 2002, CCT has also received the coveted “Best Voluntary Blood Bank” award from the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for five years in a row.
